Spacenet’s primary business was providing VSAT and hybrid/terrestrial data network services to government and enterprise customers under the Connexstar brand. Spacenet’s enterprise/government VSAT services are used for a wide range of applications such as primary broadband or narrowband networks, disaster recovery/backup networks and multicast file delivery. As of 2007, Spacenet equipment and services were in use at about 100,000 enterprise, government, residential and small office sites. Spacenet was wholly absorbed into SageNet by the end of 2014 and became solely a brand name for SageNet’s satellite services.
As part of the acquisition in 2014, Spacenet streamlined it’s business processes by using standardized SAP ERP solutions. It was imperative to enable an easy user experience for the most common transactions for new SAP users. Sagenet selected SAP Fiori UX apps for its procurement and inventory related transactions with the aim to simplify the business processes and reduce training costs for engineering teams. This was one of the first implementations of Fiori UX that utilized SAP WebIDE tool on SAP Cloud Platform. Sodales Solutions helped Spacenet with a successful implementation of the Fiori UX apps for custom ERP transactions.
